Anne of Green Gables is probably one of my favorite books. I’ve read it over 5 times, and no matter how many times I do, its magic and liveliness always reach out of it’s pages and pull me in again. One day, I began wondering, why is that? How can Lucy Maud Montgomery write words and pull us in such an effortless way?

It’s because when we read Anne of Green Gables, we find every little thing defined, and detailed in ways we can’t even imagine. This book is a painting with so many tiny details that even if you look at it for an eternity, you won’t get tired of it, because each and every time you look, you find something new and enticing and, enticing. There is always something fresh that’s waiting to pull you in.

Whether your reading about Lover’s Lane or the White Way of Delight, ; L.M. Montgomery seems to take you there; to a brand new world full of beauty and imagination….a place where you can be Princess Cordelia or even a seagull if you wish. These places are filled with beauty and magic. Each time I read Anne of Green Gables, not only do I go to Prince Edward Island, but this is where Prince Edward Island takes us to. It takes us to Avonlea, to Green Gables, and to Lover’s Lane.

It transports us slowly, and as it does, it brings through some extravagant feeling of gloriousness, and the best part is, Montgomery creates that feeling of gloriousness, in our world. It shows us that the things we find beautiful, the way we look at the world, the way each individual looks at one painting, will be totally different than the next.

When I read Anne of Green Gables, it reminds me to see the good in the world. It also reminds me that yes, their will be sad times, peoples will hurt my feelings, people will die, and things will change; but it also shows that people change for the better, certain people leaving bring others closer, and changes can be for the good of everyone. No matter what changes; the way you see the world, doesn’t have to. So, even if you're a "homely orphan", see the world in a beautiful way. See it in the light. Just because you have struggled and suffered and experienced loss, doesn’t mean you have to see the world through a dark lens.

In conclusion, Anne of Green Gables is a book that shows us our world. It doesn’t take us to a far away to a fantasy land, it doesn’t take us to Middle Earth, or Narnia... it keeps us right here. It pulls us in, helping us to find beauty, hope, and light in the world we wake up to every day.
